Independent Preclinical Review · United States

Observation before conclusion.

What was actually measured, in what model, and how far the result can travel.

An independent editorial examination of preclinical peptide literature, experimental models, methodology, replication, and the distance between an observation and a claim.

When a Literature Has Only One Family Tree

A finding can appear repeatedly in search results while still tracing back to a narrow experimental lineage. We follow the BPC-157 tendon literature back to its roots and ask what repeated citation actually demonstrates — and what it cannot.

The Publication

A review of the literature, not a market for it.

BENCHLINE reads preclinical peptide research the way it was produced: one model, one endpoint, one laboratory at a time. We record species, sample size, blinding, and lineage before we record conclusions, because in this literature the conclusion is usually the least stable part of the paper.

The publication covers experimental models and evidence quality. It does not cover dosing, sourcing, purchasing, or human use, and it accepts no advertising, sponsorships, or affiliate arrangements of any kind.

“An observation becomes a conclusion only after surviving everything that could have made it misleading.

How We Read a Paper

Standing method
  1. 01

    Sample size

How many animals, wells, or sections actually carried the result — and whether the count appears before the claim or after it.

  2. 02

    Blinding & randomization

Whether allocation and assessment were protected from expectation, or whether the methods section is silent on both.

  3. 03

    Independent replication

Whether a finding has been reproduced by laboratories outside the lineage that first reported it. Repeated citation is not replication.

  4. 04

    Endpoint selection

What was measured, when it was chosen, and whether the endpoint reported is the endpoint the experiment was built around.
